For a bit more personal development fodder for today I have dug through Steve Pavlina’s archives and recent posts are put together a quick list of some of his (many) great posts. Steve is one of my favorite bloggers. His blog is HUGE with over 1 million hits a month. He writes longer articles so you get good detail on the ideas and notions he raises. And it is always clear and humble (well.. secure might be a better word.. there is no emotional neediness in Steve’s writing.. and no insecurity.. he writes with authority, and kindness..)
The list:
1. Overcoming Jealousy - a recent post of Steve’s, read this post, it is brilliant! I think he is getter better and better. Not to say the early posts were not great. But, the stuff Steve is putting out at the moment right on the money. e.g
“My current view of reality makes it nearly impossible for jealousy to arise because I don’t subscribe to the belief that we’re all separate beings in competition with each other. Instead I see us as projections of an all-encompassing consciousness. This may sound a little strange, but I usually prefer not to think of myself as an individual human being. I consider my ego to be nothing but a perspective — a lens through which consciousness can view and interact with its contents. But by itself it has no real substance”
2. Ten Reasons Why You Should Never Get A Job - getting out of the rat race has always been a dream of mine, and I think it is of many Gen X-ers. We strive for work, life balance, apparently. I think you start to see life differently when you are able to extricate yourself from prison of paid, 9-5 labor.
One more..
3. Law of Attraction - it would not be touchy, feely, new age Wednesday (productivity and personal development) without some mention of the Law of Attraction. Which is getting a lot of “traction” these days.. and probably because there is something in it. In a world that science agrees is essentially energy.. which is governed by the law of attraction, of like attracting like.. it would be a mistake to never gain at least a superficial understanding of the concepts of this idea.
